Part 6: Capital City- City of Capital

Faced with the challenge of merging two cities, this collective project derived a coding device to encode; translate; and decipher information from the cities of Johannesburg and Pretoria (Tshwane) in order to generate a Third city.

The project is structured according to data collected from the past, the present and proposals for the future, under the themes: The Development of Johannesburg as a mining town; Valuing Transport Infrastructure and Tracking Telecommunications.

This data is represented in the form of maps, which overlay information gathered across multiple sites, establishing a new (coded) landscape, this code is deciphered as regulatory principles and translated in model form.
